| PURPOSE : |
 The OCCULTEST OB II is, an easy to use and high sensitivity and specificity kit , used for the qualitative determination of occult blood in feces.Determination of occult blood in feces is often used as a primary screening test in the diagnosis of anemia, ulcer disease,gastritis and colon cancer. Since o-tolidine and benzidine may no longer to use, to establish an ideal screening test for the determination of occult blood in feces is necessary. The OCCULTEST OB II is, using pyramidon (aminopyrine), a suitable method. The method is not carcinogenic and does not require meat restriction. The OCCULTEST OB II is sensitive enough to react to a significant amount of blood loss in the feces. The OCCULTEST OB II is also specific enough not to react with substances in diet or in common medicines. |

| PRINCIPLE : |
| The OCCULTEST OB II is based on the retention of heme pseudo peroxidase activity in the ethyl acetate. The specifically peroxide is degraded by heme to superoxide radicals with oxidizing a chromophore to a colored compound. |
